PageClimber is a website analysis service operated by Hop Holdings Ltd, an Ohio limited liability company doing business as HopIT ("HopIT", "we", "us"). We keep our data practices simple: we collect what we need to run the service, we do not sell your data, and we do not run ad tracking. This page explains the details in plain English.
What we collect
We collect a small set of information, and each item exists for a clear reason:
- Account information. When you create an account, we store your email address and a securely hashed password (or the identifier from your sign-in provider). We use your email to sign you in, send service notices, and respond to support requests.
- Scan data. When you analyze a website, we store the URLs you submit and the results we generate: scores, findings, and recommendations. This is the core of the product, and keeping history lets you track changes over time.
- Waitlist emails. If you join the waitlist, we store the email address you give us so we can tell you about availability and launch news. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Payment information. Payments are handled by a merchant-of-record payment processor. Your card details go directly to the processor and never touch our servers. We only receive confirmation of the transaction, such as what plan you purchased and its status.
- Server logs. Like nearly every website, our servers keep standard logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We use these to keep the service secure, debug problems, and prevent abuse.
How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Provide the service: run analyses, generate scores and recommendations, and show you your history.
- Operate your account: authentication, billing status, and support.
- Communicate with you about the service, such as important changes, security notices, and, if you opted in, product updates.
- Protect the service: detect abuse, enforce rate limits, and keep the platform secure and reliable.
- Improve the product, using aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
Third parties we work with
A small number of service providers help us run PageClimber. Each one receives only what it needs to do its job:
- AI processing provider. AI-powered features (such as AI-generated recommendations) send relevant page content and analysis context to an AI processing provider to generate results. We do not send your account credentials or payment details to this provider.
- Payment processor. A merchant-of-record processor handles all payments, taxes, and card data. Their handling of your payment information is governed by their own privacy policy.
- Hosting provider. Our application and data are hosted with a reputable hosting provider, which processes data on our behalf to keep the service running.
Cookies
We use cookies for one purpose: keeping you signed in. Our session cookie is required for authentication and expires when your session ends. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site tracking, or third-party analytics trackers.
Data retention
We keep your account information and scan history for as long as your account is active, so your data and trends are there when you come back. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and debugging, then deleted or anonymized. Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe or we remove the list. If you delete your account, we delete your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must keep records for legal, tax, or accounting reasons.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- Access a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate.
- Delete your account and associated personal information.
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails (every marketing email also includes an unsubscribe link).
To exercise any of these rights, email us at privacy@pageclimber.co. We will respond as promptly as we can, and we may need to verify that you own the account first.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No online service can guarantee perfect security, but we take protecting your information seriously.
Children
PageClimber is a business tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page, and for significant changes we will notify account holders by email or an in-app notice.
